Darn! Caught not crossing my "t's". I just assumed with the same year and Knef headlining... Sinister / MU screwed up and listed it as 1964 vs 1963.

Back to the drawing board on Gibraltar.

Hey, I'm sure you're not the first person to get tripped up by this mess of a title.  I love Greg Luce at Sinister but why he doesn't simply re-label this DVD by its proper name ("Ballad for a Hoodlum") -- as it appears on IMDb, after all -- is the biggest mystery.  After all, when you IMDb "None But the Lonely Spy," you come up with..... "FBI Chiama Istanbul" with Ken Clarke!

(Did I mention what good news it is that you've got some things going on the Coplan front... Wink )

Camps,

I've had copies of the original broadcasts from the French "Action" channel of FX 18 and Coplan FX 18 casse tout for a few months now. These files are a little better than the ripped avi files that were originally posted on the CG site last year. Getting these files was at least a nine month process...

I also have English dub versions of both these. So, no reason not to just jump in and do them, right??? Well, I have been dragging my feet on these two because they not only showed up on Action in really nice form, but they are also offered through the Canal + website for download (in even nicer OAR, if the trailers posted there are to be believed). Of course, a lot of time and effort was spent by me and others trying to find a way to get these files... no go, you need to be located in France to do this... grrr!

This thing happened with The Looters and now there are strong indications this one is to be released on dvd in France early this fall. So my dragging feet have a method...

I have ripped and separated all the needed files to redub Hot Diamonds and will be looking at it over the next few days. There is an 11 minute difference between the two but it still may be doable.

cheers

All good.  Thanks for the update.  BTW, great job on "Cave of Diamonds"!  (Am hoping to tackle "Sumuru" this weekend...)
